l EAST Ayrshire Council's collection of oil paintings goes live on the Your Paintings website today, bringing this massive UK-wide art project to completion.

In all, around 212,000 works are now held online at the site, a joint initiative between the BBC, the Public Catalogue Foundation and participating UK galleries and museums. Your Paintings aims to allow the user to search and view every oil painting in the national collection by artist, gallery, subject, event or style. Some of the East Ayrshire paintings that were the last to join the project can currently be seen in all their real-life glory at the Sea Fever exhibition at The Dick in Kilmarnock.
