l GREGORY Burke's theatrical tour-de-force Black Watch returns to Glasgow next month prior to a further visit to the US.
Black Watch has now played to more than 212,000 people, across four continents, winning 22 awards and has been a critical hit from New York, to New Zealand, from Toronto to Seoul.
The current cast includes Scott Fletcher, Robbie Jack, Cameron Barnes and Stephen McCole. Jack, pictured, who plays Jacko in Greg McHugh's BBC comedy Gary: Tank Commander, remembers the impact the show had on him as an audience member. "In Scotland there is a style of performing which goes right back to The Cheviot, The Stag and the Black, Black Oil in the seventies which is about song, storytelling, people playing multiple parts. I think Black Watch represents that at its best."
Black Watch is at Glasgow's SECC on March 28, 29 and 30, and April 3, 4, 5, 6, 10, 11, 12, and 13. Twenty tickets at just £10 are only available to personal callers at the box office on the day of the performance.

l GUITARIST and singer Declan Sinnott, who is more regularly to be seen and heard accompanying Irish troubadour Christy Moore on tour and on recordings, has his own concert tour of Scotland during March. Sinnott, who was a founding member of the influential trad-fusion bands Horslips and Moving Hearts and spent 13 years guiding singer Mary Black's career as her musical director, released his first album under his own name, I Love the Noise it Makes, last year. He plays Malones, Aberdeen on March 13, Malones, Edinburgh (14), St Patrick's Hall, Coatbridge (15) and The Glad Café, Glasgow (16).

THE Reel Iraq Festival, which is taking place in nine locations across the UK from March 21-25, has announced events in Edinburgh, Glasgow, Stirling and Dumfries. Musicians, directors, poets, activists and writers from Tunisia, France, Lebanon and Finland as well as Iraq will take part in the celebration of Iraqi culture, which opens with a concert featuring oud master Hasan Bressm and ambient music specialist Lord Erragal at The Forest in Edinburgh on March 21. Bressm and Lord Erragal also play at the Glad Café in Glasgow on March 23.
