Roger Lloyd-Pack, star of two of the UK's most popular sitcoms, has died at the age of 69.

Best known for his deadpan delivery and demeanour in Only Fools And Horses and The Vicar Of Dibley, Lloyd-Pack played an incredible variety of roles during a TV, film and stage career which began in the 1960s.

Born in Islington in 1944 and educated at Bedales boarding school in Hampshire, he was regarded by colleagues as a gifted professional in productions as varied as pantomimes, police drama The Bill, and Shakespeare's Twelfth Night.

Owen Newitt, The Vicar of Dibley

Lloyd-Pack played Newitt, a farmer who loved to swear, between 1994 and 2007. His character was a member of Dibley Parish Council and was often late for meetings with absurd excuses.

Friar, The Borgias

Starring alongside Jeremy Irons, Lloyd-Pack played a Friar in this series which charts the saga of a crime family in Italy in 1492.

Mendel, Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy

Lloyd-Pack appeared alongside Gary Oldman, John Hurt, Tom Hardy, Colin Firth and Benedict Cumberbatch in the 2011 film adaption of John Le Carre's classic spy novel.

John Lumic, Doctor Who

Taking on the role of Cybus Industries owner and creator of the Cybermen, John Lumic, Lloyd-Pack starred alongside David Tennant in this 2006 tale.

Bartemius 'Barty' Crouch Senior, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire

Lloyd-Pack played the Ministry of Magic official and former Head of the Department of Magical Law Enforcement in the fourth Harry Potter film alongside Daniel Radcliffe, David Tennant and Robert Pattinson.

Colin 'Trigger' Bell, Only Fools and Horses

Arguably his most famous character, Lloyd-Pack's portrayal of the hapless road-sweeper Trigger ensured he became as well-known as fellow Cockneys Del Boy and Rodney Trotter.

Mick Mortimer, The Bill

Lloyd-Pack appeared in seven episodes of the crime drama as Mick Mortimer between 1991 and 2002.

Mr Sowerberry, Oliver Twist

Lloyd-Pack starred as the undertaker who buys Oliver from Mr Bumble after he asks for more food in the workhouse in ITV's 1999 adaptation of Charles Dicken's classic.
