Participants lined up so far include kindred spirits Andy White, Malcolm Lindsay, Graham Skinner, Douglas McIntyre, Ken McClusky, Scott MacDonald and Paul Tasker. Leven's partner Deborah Greenwood has hopes to sing and all proceeds will go to the Core Trust.

Sesame Street for adults only

THE raunchy Sesame Street-for-grown-ups musical by Robert Lopez and Jeff Marx, Avenue Q, has - perhaps unsurprisingly - become a favourite among students on a musical theatre course as soon as the rights to perform it became available. Young folks from the BA course at the University of the West of Scotland are the latest to bring the down-at-heel New York street to Scotland, in collaboration with the Stowaways company. The production, overseen by Stephen Langston and Jane Robertson, is at Ayr Gaiety for four nights from Wednesday to Saturday.
