Media arts desks up and down the land are always on tenterhooks to welcome the first pantomime press release of the year, known to arrive around Eastertide from the most zealous theatres.

With Perth Theatre closed for redevelopment, the town's Horsecross arts organisation has just announced that its Sleeping Beauty at the end of this year will be performed in Perth Concert Hall and will once again be scripted by Alan McHugh and feature Barrie Hunter donning the garb of the Dame. The other new development is the signing of former Citizens' head of design Kenny Miller to direct the show. Miller staged and dressed the pantos of Giles Havergal in the Gorbals for many years and becomes an associate director of Horsecross Arts from March 10 this year.
