Malone's to host pop-up theatre day

Fancy a spot of pop-up theatre? Then Malone's Bar in Glasgow's Sauchiehall Lane is the place to be on Sunday March 30 from 6.30pm.

The Pop-Up Theatre Company, which has the aim of presenting short dramatic works in non-theatre spaces, is launching a new venture Acting Up in the upstairs function suite of the recently opened establishment. A monthly night of short plays, usually one act with small casts and minimal staging, will begin with four plays, two entirely new and another an award-winner being donated, royalty-free, to the occasion by its American author.

Students, professionals and am-dram enthusiasts are welcome onstage as well as in the audience, and if you are in the former this time round (£5 on the door), you could be in the latter next month (participation is cost-free, although writers' royalties are the performers' responsibility).
