American superstar Pharrell and The 1975 will perform at Radio 1's Big Weekend 2014 - taking place at Glasgow Green on May 24 and 25.
They will join Paolo Nutini and Rita Ora on the line-up for Europe's biggest free ticketed event, now in its 11th year. Pharrell will perform on Saturday, May 24, whilst The 1975 will perform on Sunday, May 25.

The full line-up and headline artists to perform at Radio 1's flagship music event will be revealed on Radio 1 next month.
Pharrell Williams, said: "I am so excited and honoured to be playing Radio 1's Big Weekend. Over the years I've been in awe of the amazing world class talent at the event and to know that I will be a part of it this year is so humbling. Can't wait to see you guys!"
Nick Grimshaw, The Radio 1 Breakfast Show host, added: "Arghhh Pharrell - we have one of the most important producers and artists joining us in Glasgow! And The 1975, who are now a staple part of Radio 1. I literally cannot wait and may actually have to move to Glasgow now, in anticipation!"
50,000 lucky music fans will be given the opportunity to get tickets across the two-day event. From Monday, March 31 at 8am, tickets will be given away in pairs with 25,000 available for each day. Tickets are available on a first come first served basis. Those hoping to obtain tickets will not need to register in advance, however demand for tickets is expected to massively exceed supply.
As with previous Big Weekends, tickets will be geographically weighted and an element of preference being given to local residents: 50% of tickets will be reserved for those living within the area covered by Glasgow City Council; 45% will be reserved for those residents in the rest of Scotland; with the remaining 5% for other audiences across the UK and those in the Republic of Ireland.
Tickets will be available online at Radio 1's website - www.bbc.co.uk/radio1/bigweekend - and once booking opens, this will link to a secure site hosted by See Tickets, who are handling the ticketing process on the BBC's behalf.
There will also be a phone number to call for those without internet access - 0844 858 9071 (calls cost 6p a minute plus standard network charges). Please note calls to this number before 8am on Friday, March 31 will not be answered but will still be charged. Phone lines are expected to be exceptionally busy and not everyone hoping to call is likely to get through. There is no charge for the event itself, but a handling fee of £2.50 per ticket will be applied to cover ticket handling, postage and other associated costs. Under 16's hoping to attend the event will need to be accompanied by a responsible adult who is at least 18 years old.
Radio 1 will kick start the celebrations in Glasgow on Friday, May 23 with Radio 1's Big Weekend Live from George Square. The event will see Radio 1 DJs Annie Mac, Pete Tong, Zane Lowe and Danny Howard be joined by some of the world's biggest DJs to host a massive party for over 14,000 music fans.
From Saturday, May 10 to Friday, May 16, Radio 1 and BBC Learning will open the doors to Radio 1's Academy, embarking on a special week of local engagement and outreach activity in Glasgow. Further details about Radio 1's Academy including the session plan and full line-up will be announced in May.
Radio 1's Big Weekend will be visiting Glasgow to celebrate the city's hosting of the 2014 Commonwealth Games and will be produced in partnership with Glasgow City Marketing Bureau.
The event is part of the BBC's year-long contribution to the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games. The BBC is the domestic broadcaster for Glasgow 2014 and in addition to comprehensive sports coverage during The Games in July and August, the Corporation has also unveiled a wide-ranging package of on-air and off-air output and events throughout 2014.
Radio 1's Big Weekend 2014 will be broadcast live on Radio 1, BBC Radio 1Xtra and streamed online and on mobile. It will also be broadcast on BBC Three with highlights from acts across the weekend.
