Britain's Got Talent boss Simon Cowell has admitted he is "dreading" the moment his baby son wants to audition on one of his shows.

Cowell, whose son Eric was born on Valentine's Day, said: "Give him a couple of years! I'm kind of dreading that moment - 'Daddy, can I go on one of your shows?'"

But he said at least he was sure his pets Squiddly and Diddly would not be on the show attempting to repeat the success of another dog act - Ashleigh and Pudsey.

"At the moment I can't even get them to sit, never mind be dancing dogs. They are literally the worst-behaved dogs I've ever met in my life. That's why I love them though."

The new series, with a judging panel of Cowell, Alesha Dixon, David Walliams and Amanda Holden, starts on Saturday night and Cowell said Dixon would be a "great" addition to his other hit show - the X Factor.

He said: "Do you know what I think? She'd be a great judge but I don't know whether she'd want to because she likes doing Got Talent. We talked about it two years ago".

He laughed off a lot of the rumoured names that have been linked to the singing show, saying: "In terms of the rumours - Rita Ora no, Rihanna we never spoke to, Louis I would like to come back.

"It's a decision I've got to make with the producers and ITV so we'll see what happens."
