Stirling Castle hosts Sense And Sensibility
One of Jane Austen's best loved works is to be performed at Stirling Castle next month.
The castle, the former home of Mary, Queen Of Scots, will provide the backdrop to an outdoor production of Sense And Sensibility.
The novel, first published in 1811, is regarded as one of Austen's best loved works and has been the subject of numerous adaptations, including perhaps most famously a 1995 film starring Emma Thompson, pictured above, and Kate Winslet.
The production at the castle is by Chapterhouse Theatre Company and will be performed on August 7 as part of Historic Scotland's annual events programme.

Bothy days at the Gallery
the grounds of the Scottish National Gallery Of Modern Art in Edinburgh will be home to a traditional Scottish bothy, designed exclusively as part of the nationwide exhibition Generation: 25 Years Of Contemporary Art In Scotland.
Created by The Bothy Project, a team comprising artist Bobby Niven and architect Iain MacLeod, the temporary structure will be the venue for a programme of talks, performances, events and screenings throughout its three-month run, from July 31 to the end of October.
The bothy, situated in the grounds of Modern One at the Scottish National Gallery Of Modern Art, in Belford Road, has been created with the area of Assynt in mind.
After its time at Modern One, the bothy will make the journey up to the superb landscape of Assynt to become a permanent feature in the shadow of Suilven and Canisp.
