Nish Kumar talks to HeraldScotland about his Fringe show, heckles and his craziest experience on stage.
Tell us about your Fringe show
It's about opinion, how we form it and how we express it. But it is also funny. In my opinion.
Best thing about the Fringe?
Getting to be in the same city as all your friends.
Worst thing about the Fringe?
Having to be in the same city as all your friends. Sometimes they are really annoying.
How many years have you been coming to the Fringe?
Eight
Favourite Fringe venue?
The Stand is a great room to watch stand up.
Best Fringe memory?
I've seen too many great shows over the years to separate them. I once saw Neil and Christine Hamilton signing a guy's butt. So I'll have to go with that.
Best heckle?
"Get off. Or else". Say no more sir.
Craziest on stage experience?
At a festival someone got on stage and tried to strip me. I ran.
What's on your rider?
I normally ask for a glass of water. But that doesn't seem very showbiz. So I'm going to say a gold bust of Zinedine Zidane and some Buffy DVD's.
How do you wind down after a show?
Well from now on I imagine I'll just be watching my Buffy DVD's.
What do you love about Scotland?
Well I love Haggis and Whisky. So Scotland is an ideal place for me.
What do you like about Edinburgh?
The ready availability of the above.
What's the most Scottish thing you've done?
Tried to leave the union. Apparently "a person can't be a country". Thanks a lot Brussels.
What kind of jokes do a Scottish crowd seem to respond to?
Ones that they find funny.
Favourite joke?
"I don't want to achieve immortality with my work. I want to achieve it by not dying" - Woody Allen.
