Paul F Taylor speaks to HeraldScotland about cats, trashy TV and unhealthy eating.

Tell us about your Fringe show

It's called the Incredible Paul F Taylor. It's essentially an hour of my off beat one liners and zany observational stand up but with a nod to the incredible hulk.

Best thing about the Fringe?

The energy in the city whilst the festival is on. It's intoxicating!

Worst thing about the Fringe?

Trying to walk past all the busy bus stops on South Bridge and Nicholson street with a huge bag of equipment for a show.

How many years have you been coming to the Fringe?

8 years now. Veteran!

Favourite Fringe venue?

There's loads I like, maybe one of the really intimate ones like the Tron or the Bedlam. Ones where the audience get hit by the sweat.

Best Fringe memory?

When one of the fighter jets flew overhead and I saw a man stop drop and roll.

Best heckle?

Someone once heckled another comedian I know with "Tell us a joke we've heard !". Not really sure what you say to that.

Craziest on stage experience?

Not sure, I was talking about cats on stage recently and a cat that lived in the venue joined me on stage, much to the audience's delight. I tried incorporating the cat into the show but we hadn't rehearsed together and it turns out cats are terrible at improv. In the end he got bored and disappeared out of a window like batman.

What's on your rider?

Nothing too exciting, maybe a Berocca tablet and a glass of water to put it in, perhaps I can give you my shopping list and you can pick up a few things for me?

How do you wind down after a show?

Usually my post gig routine involves driving home again afterwards. But I do like trashy TV to zone out too. Any old sitcom will do.

What do you love about Scotland?

I love everyone's seemingly utter disregard to healthy eating. A deep fried hamburger does not deserve to be inside your stomach yet there's always people buying them!

What do you like about Edinburgh?

How to get pretty much anywhere you have to go up and down a hill. Its a very 3D place! I always enjoy the challenge of trying to explain to a lost tourist on North Bridge how to get down to cowgate.

What's the most Scottish thing you've done?

I got really annoyed at the disruption caused by the construction of the trams, and I drank an irn bru as I did it.

What kind of jokes do a Scottish crowd seem to respond to?

I can't answer for Scottish people, but Scottish cats love jokes on cat food.

Favourite joke?

Of mine? This year I'm enjoying the confusion I cause with this one:

I like tablecloths, they're great for when you want to make your table look like the ghost of a table.
