Games podiums will go on show

Some of the podiums used in the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow are to be archived and eventually displayed by museums in Scotland.

The wood used in the podiums, created by Glasgow designer Paul Hodgkiss, came from fallen elm and sycamore trees. Some of the podiums are being given to sporting stadiums, clubs and centres, while others have been donated to Glasgow Life and National Museums Scotland and will be put on display.
