Brothers blast back onto the road together

Brothers blast back onto the road together

Glasgow Americana promoters Fallen Angels Club are promoting a gig that very nearly wasn't possible two years ago.

Brothers Dave and Phil Alvin of the Blasters have reunited and are touring with Dave's current band, the Guilty Ones. The siblings hadn't recorded together since 1985, but reunited after Phil had to be resuscitated during a Spanish tour in 2012.

Common Ground: Dave Alvin & Phil Alvin Play and Sing the Songs of Big Bill Broonzy, the album that Phil's near-death experience inspired, has been receiving rave reviews.

The pair are likely to feature many of the songs from that, as well as older favourites, when they play The Art School Glasgow on Tuesday, October 28.
