Piff the Magic Dragon discusses Breakfast at Piffany's, castles and getting his big breaks at the Edinburgh Fringe.

Tell us about your Fringe show

Part magic show, part game show, part cry for help, Breakfast at Piffany’s sees Piff split the audience into teams to fight for points and prizes, and along the way witness incredible magic tricks, delicious snacks, surprise special guests and epic thumb wars.

Best thing about the Fringe?

The word of mouth. Any success I've had at the fringe started with word of mouth, and I can trace back most of the biggest breaks in my career to the Edinburgh Fringe.

Worst thing about the Fringe?

THE RAIN.

How many years have you been coming to the Fringe?

This is my sixth year.

Favourite Fringe venue?

Let's say Underbelly Circus hub. Especially as it's where I'm performing this year.

Best Fringe memory?

I'll always remember my first year as it's when I got Mr Piffles and the dream began.

Best heckle?

One of my first gigs someone yelled 'get on with it you green t**t' before I'd even got to the microphone.

Craziest on stage experience?

Opening for Mumford & Sons on their UK tour. We played to 150,000 in a month.

What’s on your rider?

Mine is minimal compared to Mr Piffles'.

How do you wind down after a show?

Save a princess or two i.e. play The Legend of Zelda.

What do you love about Scotland?

The people. They welcomed an impoverished magical dragon with open arms many years ago and I've never looked back.

What do you like about Edinburgh?

The Castles. It's basically a dragon's dream retirement community.

What’s the most Scottish thing you’ve done?

Taken up golf.

What kind of jokes do a Scottish crowd seem to respond to?

The funny ones mainly.

Favourite joke?

What do dragons call a knight in shining armour? Tinned food.
