CUPAR Blues & Beyond Club has announced three more concerts in its “beyond” series. Having successfully brought regular blues gigs to the Fife town for more than ten years, the club has widened its remit and brings jazz, folk-country and world music to its established venue, Watt’s in Station Road, this autumn.
Scottish National Jazz Orchestra saxophonist Konrad Wisniewski and his musical partner, pianist-composer-arranger Euan Stevenson present their New Focus Duo on Friday, September 16. Singer-songwriter and Stealers Wheel founding member Rab Noakes returns to his hometown on Saturday, October 15, and Indian violinist Jyotsna Srikanth, who performed her composition Indian Spring with the London Philharmonic Orchestra for an audience of 70,000 at the Wembley Stadium concert that welcomed Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the UK last year, appears with her band Bangalore Dreams on Friday, November 18.

UNDER a month after the Virgin Money Fireworks Concert brings down the curtain on this year's Edinburgh International Festival at the Ross Bandstand in Princes Street Gardens, the same venue will host a new festival created by the music-lovers behind the FLY nights of house and techno floor-fillers at Edinburgh's Cabaret Voltaire venue.
The FLY Open Air Festival will run from noon to 10pm at the Ross Bandstand on Saturday September 24. The line-up includes Harri + Domenic, pictured, from Glasgow's Sub Club, which has hosted FLY nights in the West, alongside Motor City Drum Ensemble, live Mr G, and Dutch house from Detroit Swindle.

GLASGOW-based singer-songwriter Steve Grozier appears at the Hug and Pint on Great Western Road on Thursday, September 1 to mark the release of his debut EP, Take My Leave. Grozier, who is best known as a member of alt-country band Low Winter Sun, returned to the Glasgow music scene last year following a long absence. The songs featured on Take My Leave were written during a six-month period in Toronto in 2005 and have been recorded with John Dunlop, Dillon Haldane and Roscoe Wilson from Glasgow folk-acoustic band Anton and the Colts.
