Jason John Whitehead talks about his new show, Fool Disclosure.

1. Tell us about your Fringe show

It's called Fool Disclosure and it's a stand up show full of stories of my recent travels.

2 Best thing about the Fringe?

There is so much to see and so many comedians to catch up with.

3 Worst thing about the Fringe?

Standing still buskers.

4 How many years have you been coming to the Fringe?

This is my 9th solo show and my 14th year here. Rarely has a summer gone by in my career without a trip to the Fringe.

5 Favourite Fringe venue?

This is my first year at The Liquid Rooms and there is a great little beer garden and my room is super comfy… so I'd have to say The Liquid Rooms baby!

6 Best Fringe memory?

I have so many but right now the one that pops in to mind is my first ever show I did here in 1999. It was a package show called the midnight show and my fellow performers were Joe Heenan, Dougie Dunlop and Keara Murphy. We had a blast!

7 Best heckle?

Sometimes the best heckles are the polite ones because they catch you so off guard. Recently a woman said "I like your hair" right in the middle of a joke. I had no idea what to do with it other than say "thank you". Luckily the awkward silence got a huge laugh.

8 Craziest on stage experience?

I opened for Guns n Roses this year to 4,000 crazy fans at The Joint in The Hard Rock Casino Las Vegas. It was pretty crazy fun. Then I got in a fight with strippers back stage... but you'll have to come see my show if you want the rest of that story.

9 What’s on your rider?

Not fighty strippers I'll tell you that! I'm generally a beer and vodka guy. Enough for a spontaneous party post show anyway.

10 How do you wind down after a show?

In Edinburgh? I don't know if we ever wind down. Comics are out there just talking each other’s ears off until 5am in this town.

11 What do you love about Scotland?

It's a beautiful place and believe it or not the topography reminds me a lot of my home province in eastern Canada, Nova Scotia.

12 What do you like about Edinburgh?

I like that it smells like a brewery.

13 What’s the most Scottish thing you’ve done?

I used to live here so I AM quite in to Haggis and Black pudding etc… but I'd have to say the deep fried Mars Bar never impressed me.

14 What kind of jokes do a Scottish crowd seem to respond to?

Anything about how ridiculous the English are. They're really just great crowds here.

15 Favourite joke?

I don't do 'skinny jeans' because I think I might want to have children some day.......

And I don't want them to see pictures of me dressed like a dick.

16 Favourite Scottish food/drink?

Big fan of the haggis. Big fan. Love the stuff.

Jason John Whitehead, Fool Disclosure is on at PBH's Free Frnge, Liquid Rooms until August 29 (except 16th and 23rd).
