THE Tron Theatre in Glasgow has announced the return of its Sunday afternoon jazz concerts in the Vic Bar. Glasgow-born Jim Mullen, who has been the guitarist of choice for soul/folk poet Terry Callier, jazz piano giant Gene Harris and blues singer Jimmy Witherspoon among many other top names, opens the series on August 28 in a trio with bassist Andy Sharkey and pianist Euan Stevenson. Parisian swing-styled quartet Rose Room appear on September 25 and New Focus Quartet follow on October 30. London-based singer Anita Wardell completes the programme on November 27 in a trio with trumpeter Colin Steele and Euan Stevenson.
