The Not So Late Show with Ross & Josh will be at the Pleasance Dome – Jack Dome for the month of August
1 Tell us about your Fringe show
It’s a spoof, alternative comedy chat show with sketches, special guests, games and videos. It’s a multimedia extravaganza!
2 How does it feel to be playing the Fringe for the first time?
Genuinely amazing / terrifying / amazing again. We’ve been going for several years and, since doing the show, people have told us ‘You need to take this to The Fringe’. So it feels great to finally get to do that.
3 Best live act you’ve seen at a Fringe?
Ross: Tony Law at The Stand a few years ago was one of the funniest things I’ve ever seen in my life. Trygve Wakenshaw was also weird and wonderful.
Josh: John Kearns Best Newcomer show was an eye opener. Tim Key’s show Single White Slut was probably the best.
4 Best thing about the Fringe?
The opportunity to come up with an idea, create it and perfect it, night after night, in front of a potentially big audience of new people.
5 Worst thing about the Fringe?
How bloody expensive it is.
6 If you were not a performer what would you be doing?
Ross: Betting on horse racing.
Josh: Watching videos of Gennaro Contaldo on Youtube.
7 How do you combat pre-gig nerves?
By furiously solving all the tech problems we seem to have, so it distracts us from the fact that we’re about to do a show. That and by treating ourselves to one, solitary beer.
8 Worst on stage experience?
Josh: A gig called Comedy Gladiators at The Cross Keys in Bristol where I lost my mind and ended up smearing mustard all over myself and shouting ‘Are you not entertained?’ at the audience.
Ross: A gig in my first ever band at The Packhorse in Leeds. We decided to play some new songs we’d written that day. I think it’s safe to say none of us could remember them. Put it this way, I was the most musically reliable in the band, and I only knew a handful of power chords.
9 What do you love about Scotland?
The beautiful landscapes, whisky and Limmy.
10 What do you like about Edinburgh?
The Fringe, obviously. The incredible combination of old and new. Musselburgh racecourse.
11 What’s the most Scottish thing you’ve ever done?
Threatened to leave England but not followed through with it.
12 Favourite Scottish food/drink?
Ross: Tunnocks Caramel Wafers and Innis & Gunn Toasted Oak IPA
Josh: Crumpets and Laphroaig
13 Sum up your show in three words
Pure, unadulterated fun.

Why are you making commenting on The Herald only available to subscribers?
It should have been a safe space for informed debate, somewhere for readers to discuss issues around the biggest stories of the day, but all too often the below the line comments on most websites have become bogged down by off-topic discussions and abuse.
heraldscotland.com is tackling this problem by allowing only subscribers to comment.
We are doing this to improve the experience for our loyal readers and we believe it will reduce the ability of trolls and troublemakers, who occasionally find their way onto our site, to abuse our journalists and readers. We also hope it will help the comments section fulfil its promise as a part of Scotland's conversation with itself.
We are lucky at The Herald. We are read by an informed, educated readership who can add their knowledge and insights to our stories.
That is invaluable.
We are making the subscriber-only change to support our valued readers, who tell us they don't want the site cluttered up with irrelevant comments, untruths and abuse.
In the past, the journalist’s job was to collect and distribute information to the audience. Technology means that readers can shape a discussion. We look forward to hearing from you on heraldscotland.com
