PLATFORM in Easterhouse, Glasgow has announced that this year’s Christmas Carousal show will feature Arab Strap’s Malcolm Middleton, Save as Collective’s MC Almond Milk and Jo Mango.

MC Almond Milk is a Glaswegian musician: Jamie Scott, also of rap pop duo Carbs, of Glasgow-based electronic crew Save As Collective and formerly of Conquering Animal Sound.

Jo Mango is a multi-instrumentalist from Glasgow.

The event will take place on December 15, doors at 7pm.

Stalin prizes

THE Death of Stalin, the film by Armando Iannucci, has won three British Independent Film Awards in its craft categories.

Lady Macbeth, by William Oldroyd and Marin McDonough's Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri, won two each.

Ianucci's film about the death of the dictator won prizes for Best Casting, Best Make up and Design and Best Production Design in the early craft categories.

Bridges gigs

THE comedian Kevin Bridges has added an extra six dates, including a further four nights at The SSE Hydro in Glasgow, to his recently announced tour ‘Brand New’.

When pre-sale tickets for tour went on sale on November 22, 85,000 tickets were sold within the first hour.

Extra dates have now been added to his tour including the SSE Hydro, Glasgow on Sunday 7th, Sunday 14th, Friday 19th and Saturday 29th October, 2018.

Inglis memorial

A MEMORIAL to pioneering doctor, suffragist and founder of the Scottish Women's Hospitals, Elsie Inglis, has been unveiled at Edinburgh Central Library, 100 years on from her death.

Members of Dr Inglis’ family saw the plaque on the library’s first floor commemorating her and the work of the Scottish Women’s Hospitals during World War One.
