Terry Alderton’s new comedy show, Terry Alderton The Musical, will be on at the Assembly George Street Studios One during August.

  • What is your Fringe show about?

It’s about me, my dog and a bumble bee. It’s a musical based on my career with jokes by me and music by Grammy nominated Owen Parker. It’s quite ambitious – but I think 80% of people will love it – the rest will totally hate it!

  • How many times/many years have you appeared at the Fringe?

I’ve been coming to the Fringe since the late 90s – oh God I’m so old.

  • What’s your most memorable moment from the Fringe?

Winning the Malcolm Hardee Award for Comic Originality last year.

  • What’s the worst thing about the Fringe?

There is nothing bad about it! I love it all. Except for the other comedians, the tourists, the food places, the accommodation, the audiences, the people handing out flyers, the reviewers, and every single venue. Apart from that I love everything about it/

  • If you were not a performer what would you be doing?

I’d be a bus driver. I would love to drive a double decker bus.

  • How do you prepare for a performance?

40 sit ups, 3 cans of red bull and then I like to punch a pillow or dress up as a bee and run into a window. Pretty much the same as everyone right?

I think it’s the anticipation of each show and I like to go running up Alfred’s Chair. I love that hill.

  • What’s the most Scottish thing you’ve ever done?

Last year I performed every show in a kilt. And my friend Grant Nelson from Edinburgh says “mibsie aye, mibsie no” when he’s not sure about something – and I say that all the time now.

  • Favourite Scottish food/drink?

Probably The Korean BBQ on Tarvitt Street

  • Sum up your show in three words

55 minutes long.

Show summary

It's the musical they said would never happen! After last year's award-winning show, he's back with stories from his life set to music. Oh yes. Featuring: his time in the CIA, the fight over a parking space with Prince Charles and the loss of his imaginary friend Bogey.
