Nick Cody talks about his new stand up show, Come Get Some.
Tell us about your Fringe show
An hour of hilarious stand-up covering everything from my great grandma's dying at 102, being near a car bomb explosion in Afghanistan, my fiance's super power and much more.
Best thing about the Fringe?
A month in Edinburgh with some of the funniest and most talented people from around the world.
Worst thing about the Fringe?
It's a month.
How many years have you been coming to the Fringe?
This is my second year.
Favourite Fringe venue?
Assembly. Because I'm there every night. Gotta love it.
Best Fringe memory?
Selling out shows last year. I'd heard so many negative stories regarding audience numbers, that to fill out my room a bunch of times felt great.
Best heckle?
I don't acknowledge heckles or the terrible people that feel the need to do them. Sit down and let the professional do the talking.
Craziest on stage experience?
Doing a gig on the flight deck of the HMAS Melbourne, off of the coast of Iran. At sunset. Normally, outdoor gigs can be a nightmare, but that was so ace.
What’s on your rider?
Hahahaha. I'm not a rapper. I'm a red bearded idiot from Australia. My rider is whatever I turn up to the venue with. Usually, a bottle of water and a beer.
How do you wind down after a show?
Drink and chat with other comedians.
What do you love about Scotland?
The weather. Seriously. 16 and sunny is my favourite temperature.
What do you like about Edinburgh?
It's a beautiful city with some much culture, old architecture and beautiful pubs (the most important). Also, Arthur's Seat is ace.
What’s the most Scottish thing you’ve done?
To be honest, I don't know what it is to "do a Scottish thing". I was there for a month last year so there is a very good chance I accidently did a few of them.
What kind of jokes do a Scottish crowd seem to respond to?
My ones.
Favourite joke?
Nobody is sad at the funeral of a 102 year old. When they die at that age, you're just happy to find out they weren't a vampire.
Favourite Scottish food/drink?
I had a bunch of beers over there last time that I have forgotten the names of. Most likely due to the number of them that I consumed. I'll have to get back to you on those. Haha.

Why are you making commenting on The Herald only available to subscribers?
It should have been a safe space for informed debate, somewhere for readers to discuss issues around the biggest stories of the day, but all too often the below the line comments on most websites have become bogged down by off-topic discussions and abuse.
heraldscotland.com is tackling this problem by allowing only subscribers to comment.
We are doing this to improve the experience for our loyal readers and we believe it will reduce the ability of trolls and troublemakers, who occasionally find their way onto our site, to abuse our journalists and readers. We also hope it will help the comments section fulfil its promise as a part of Scotland's conversation with itself.
We are lucky at The Herald. We are read by an informed, educated readership who can add their knowledge and insights to our stories.
That is invaluable.
We are making the subscriber-only change to support our valued readers, who tell us they don't want the site cluttered up with irrelevant comments, untruths and abuse.
In the past, the journalist’s job was to collect and distribute information to the audience. Technology means that readers can shape a discussion. We look forward to hearing from you on heraldscotland.com
