Mary Lynn Rayskub talks about her debut show, 24 hours with Mary Lynn Rayskub.
Tell us about your Fringe show
My show is anchored in stand up and tells the story of me going on the road and being tempted away from my husband, which drives me to learn how to love him more.
How does it feel to be playing the Fringe for the first time?
It is a dream come true.

If you were not a performer/comedian what would you be doing?
I’d be a painter.
How do you combat pre-gig nerves?
I try to move my body, take deep breaths or distract myself.
Worst on stage experience?
Best of Fest the other night when a guy was passed out in the front row and everyone was drunk and not into me.
How do you recover from a hefty heckle? Do you have a set of stock replies?
Usually I start by insulting their intelligence or calling them paid sex workers and then it ends with us becoming best friends.
What do you love about Scotland?
The passion and kindness of the people.
What do you like about Edinburgh?
Being in town during the Fringe surrounded by artists doing shows and people who love going to shows.
What’s the most Scottish thing you’ve done?
Drink whisky!
Who’s your favourite Scottish comedian?
Janey Godley.
Favourite joke?
The Scottish summer.
Favourite Scottish food/drink?
The haggis panini.

Why are you making commenting on The Herald only available to subscribers?
