Baby Wants Candy talk about their new show, Thrones! The musical.

1 Tell us about your Fringe show

Baby Wants Candy is a completely improvised musical with a full rock band, based on a single suggestion from the audience. Thrones! The Musical is a musical parody of everyone’s favorite show, “Game of Thrones”.

2 Best thing about the Fringe?

Getting to know and see the work of all the other artists.

3 Worst thing about the Fringe?

The cobblestones, which break our delicate American ankles.

4 How many years have you been coming to the Fringe?

This is Baby Wants Candy’s seventh consecutive year!

5 Favorite Fringe venue?
Our beloved Assembly George Square One!

8 Craziest on stage experience?
A few years ago, when we were doing “50 Shades! The Musical” at the Mound, there was a scene change, and we heard a gigantic ripping sound from the stage. One of the moving units had gotten hooked onto the floor cover and the actors, who were big strapping gents, had decided to keep moving the unit anyway, tearing up a huge chunk of the stage floor (and pinning the unit into the side wings in such a way that it no longer served as a functioning exit). Since it was blocked, there were a few transitions that night that involved leaping into the blind darkness to grab a costume piece or prop.

9 What’s on your rider?

They can put any item for us backstage EXCEPT green M&M’s, or David Lee Roth.

10 How do you wind down after a show?

We love going to the Assembly gardens for some of those amazing ciders that for some reason they have not brought to the US.

12 What do you like about Edinburgh?

It’s a beautiful city that combines history and modernity in a wonderful way.

13 What’s the most Scottish thing you’ve done?
We had some people stay at our flat as guests, and then we found out their last name was Campbell, so we threw them out.

14 What kind of jokes do a Scottish crowd seem to respond to?
They seem to love anytime we make fun of dumb Americans, not sure why that is!

16 Favourite Scottish food/drink?

Neeps and tatties!

Baby Wants Candy: Thrones! The musical is on at the Assembly George Square Studio 1, until August 29.
