Amée Smith talks about her new show, Relax, It's Not About You.

1 Tell us about your Fringe show

My ex wanted an Edinburgh show so I've got one, only it's not about revenge. I'm doing this all for me and loving every minute!

2 How does it feel to be playing the Fringe for the first time?

It's terrifying! I've been before as an actor but a solo show is a very different challenge.

3 Live act most looking forward to seeing at Fringe?

Rayguns Look Real Enough. They are so much fun!

4 If you were not a performer/comedian what would you be doing?

As a child I said I'd be a pathologist by day and pop star at night. So I guess I'd be doing that. Though if I were still doing what I do now, just not at Fringe then I'd be sleeping, eating real food, having conversations about things outside of the Edinbubble. I'm starting to forget what the real world is like...

5 How do you combat pre-gig nerves?

Ha ha ha ha ha. I'm flattered that you don't think they show.

6 Worst on stage experience?

I was in the audience for an interactive show and the act, who was so hot (and I think that about him in real life, not just on stage) asked in a series of quickfire questions... "Most significant lover?" and far far too fast I said "You!"...Yeah, wishful thinking Amée.

7 How do you recover from a hefty heckle? Do you have a set of stock replies?

Shhhh, don't encourage people to think that's ok!

8 What do you love about Scotland?

Falafal everywhere!

9 What do you like about Edinburgh?

Falafal EVERYWHERE!

10 What’s the most Scottish thing you’ve done?

Been rained on. Dried out in 10 mins then and been rained on again.

11 Who’s your favourite Scottish comedian?

Danny Bhoy.

12 Favourite joke?

What do you call an interupting cow?

I don't know. What do you call an interup...

MOOOO!

13 Favourite Scottish food/drink?

Ruffles!

Amée Smith: Relax, It's Not About You is on at Underbelly Med Quad (Venue 302) until August 29.
