AS new BBC psychological thriller The Replacement – set in Glasgow – airs this week, here's some of the other big name TV shows and films shot in Scotland that will be soon gracing our screens.

THE WIFE

Christian Slater, Glenn Close and Jonathan Pryce are among the big names who descended on Scotland last autumn to shoot The Wife, a film that centres on a woman living in the shadows of her successful husband.

Shot in Glasgow, Edinburgh and Dumfries, it is based on the novel of the same name by Meg Wolitzer.

Jonathan Pryce and Close’s daughter Annie Starke also star.

THE LOCH

Breaking Bad star Laura Fraser leads the cast of ITV murder mystery The Loch, which is due to air later this year.

The six-part drama unfolds after the body of a man is discovered at the foot of a mountain, with a human heart found on the shore of the nearby loch. Filming took place at Loch Ness, Glencoe, Glasgow and Kilmarnock.

The Herald:

CHURCHILL

Brian Cox portrays Sir Winston Churchill in the big-screen biopic of the wartime prime minister. Set in 1944 – during the 48 hours leading to D-Day – filming took place in Glasgow and Edinburgh last year.

Locations include Glasgow City Chambers and Calton Hill. Churchill will be released in June to coincide with the 73rd anniversary of D-Day.

TRUST ME

Filming is under way in Glasgow and Edinburgh on BBC psychological thriller Trust Me.

Broadchurch actor Jodie Whittaker plays a hardworking nurse who, after losing her job for whistle-blowing, seizes an opportunity to steal her best friend’s identity as a senior doctor and start her life over.

The cast includes Emun Elliott, Sharon Small and Blake Harrison.
