MERCHANT Voices, under their conductor Stephen Langston, hold their Christmas Concert on Saturday December 10, at 7.30pm at St Mary’s Cathedral, Great Western Road, Glasgow. The programme includes music by John Rutter and Morten Lauridsen, as well as perennial seasonal favourites and a lively setting of Lewis Carroll’s Jabberwocky. In addition to accompanying the choir, pianist Gilmour Macleod will play music by Chopin and Ketelby. Tickets are £10 and under 12s go free.

ODEON cinemas across the UK are screening The Royal Ballet's seasonal production of The Nutcracker in cinemas across Scotland this evening. The Royal Ballet performances at Covent Garden are sold out, but cinemagoers can catch the sdhow from 7.15pm this evening in Dundee, Dunfermline, East Kilbride, Glasgwo Quay, Kilmarnock, amd Ford Kinnaird, Lothian Road and Wester Hailes in Edinburgh.
