Communities across Scotland are being urged to play their part in a project that will reveal the secrets of the First World War.
This week sees the start of Home Front Legacy 1914-18, in which the Council For British Archaeology and Historic Scotland, and other partners across the UK, are working together to record the physical remains of the war on home territory.
Volunteers are sought to help survey, research and record buildings and sites that played an important role before, during and after the conflict.
The project will allow communities to build on an audit of all existing First World War records undertaken by Dr Gordon Barclay for Historic Scotland and the Royal Commission On The Ancient And Historical Monuments Of Scotland. That saw almost 1000 records of buildings and places created or updated.

Book publisher reveals changes
independent book publisher Cargo has announced that Gill Tasker and Helen Sedgwick are the company's new joint managing directors.
Mark Buckland, the Glasgow-based company's founder and former managing director, will remain on the board and assume a new role as director of special projects. Current director and former Virgin Group executive Murray Buchanan will become chairman.
Cargo Publishing was founded in 2009 and since then has published fiction and non-fiction.
Since 2011 Cargo has published the winner of the Dundee International Book Prize - the UK's largest cash prize for an unpublished novel - most recently won by Nicola White for In The Rosary Garden.

Jasmin's show set for theatre
A new exhibition by artist Jasmin Sutherland is being shot in and displayed in His Majesty's Theatre, Aberdeen.
Entitled Between Every Act, it is being held in the theatre's Dress Circle Bar and is a set of photographs that use the interior spaces of the theatre as sets.
It will run from March 22 to June 15.
