GLASGOW is to host the third Glasgow Contemporary Art Fair (GCAF) at the end of April.

The 2017 Glasgow Contemporary Art Fair takes place at the Old Fruitmarket venue on April 28-30.

Its organisers say it will feature hundreds of galleries, artists, printmakers and art collectives. There will be two floors of work and prices ranging from around £50 to upwards of £10,000.

During the weekend, the public will have the chance to "meet and greet" artists who will be in attendance.

Entrance fees on the Saturday and Sunday will be £3 per adult with children under 15 free of charge.

Byers, pictured, will be covering the post held by Leonie Bell, director of arts, who has been seconded to the Scottish Government for 18 months to help write the new National Cultural Strategy.

She is formerly the deputy director for Baltic Centre for Contemporary Art in Gateshead and more recently spent 14 months on the Isle of Lewis as Transition Director for An Lanntair.

She has also held senior cultural positions at One North East, and helped to establish Northern Film & Media.

Ms Byers said: "I am absolutely thrilled to take on the mantle of Interim Director of Arts & Engagement, not least to be returning to Scotland. It will be a privilege to build on all that Leonie and the exceptionally strong team at Creative Scotland have achieved.

BEN Glover plays at the Admiral Bar in Glasgow on March 22.

The Nashville-based Irishman has recently received plaudits for his latest album The Emigrant.

He has toured with Vince Gill, Buddy Miller and Jim Lauderdale and, on his most recent visit to the city, he played at the Glasgow Americana Festival at a special show that also featured Roddy Hart and Boo Hewerdine.

Earlier in March, the Bar is seeing a concert from American Music Club’s guiding force, Mark Eitzel. He will be playing Glasgow for his first Scottish date in three years.

Songs from his tenth solo album and his first since 2013, Hey Mr Ferryman, produced by Mercury Prize winner, Bernard Butler and released in January this year, will be to the fore at The Admiral on March 12 alongside his popular back catalogue.
