As anyone who has gone to life drawing sessions will tell you, drawing the human figure is hard. One little slip and the whole figure falls to pieces. It's all about the line.

For a masterclass in drawing and painting the human figure, head to the Smithy Gallery in Blanefield, where Felix Daly is exhibiting a "body" of work titled Undressed. Daly, who by day is principal teacher of art in a Paisley secondary school, spends three hours every night in his studio drawing and painting. It's time well spent. His paintings are all impossible angles, rich patterns and texture. He's not only a fine draftsman, he conjures up a mean mood too.
