After graduating with honours from Edinburgh College of Art in photography and film-making, I spent time learning the craft of press photography at regional titles before joining The Herald in the Edinburgh office in 1996. My work has included major events from the Open Golf and European football championships, to Princess Diana's funeral and the Dunblane massacre, and to covering wars in Kosovo and Iraq. Since the opening of the Scottish Parliament I have also enjoyed covering the changing political landscape.
A major highlight was being invited to photograph Sir Sean Connery at his Bahamas home, where he reads HeraldScotland online every day.
