My career in media began when I came to do a week-long work experience stint on the fledgling Sunday Herald Magazine in May 1999 and never left. This could be attributed to my intimate - if sometimes useless - font of knowledge about all things Star Wars and American Vogue, which finally bore fruit with a feature idea; an ability to tidy up when all others were too knackered to do so; and my winning way with a pack of biscuits whenever spirits are flagging. Working on the fashion pages for the Sunday Herald and subsequently The Herald Magazine has allowed me to play with European barn owls in the depths of Roslin Chapel – on Halloween; apologise to a team of firemen in Belladrum (who had a lovely vintage engine) for strange goings on in the woods way past bedtime;  jam diamond necklaces into tatty drawers because they look good like that; and divvy out bottles of vodka in lieu of location fees to farmers in deepest rural Poland. Still smitten, I'm continuing to freeze beautiful girls for a living – and like nothing more than indulging my somewhat obsessive love of glossy monographs on photography, fine art and cinema even though I have no room left to store them.
