London Fashion Week: what's hot from Scots designers

Certainly there's no ignoring the presence of a growing Scottish incumbent in London who are pushing to communicate our nation's wealth of creative talent. Fashion Spy meets... Karen Mabon

Hi Karen, tell us about you and your work   Well I'm an accessories designer based in Edinburgh. I started my own label in 2012 after I graduated from the Royal College of Art in London. I started out literally making scarves by hand on my kitchen table. Now everything is made in Italy and although it's a small company, it's become my full-time job. The aim is to create affordable luxury. We keep things unique and special by producing limited editions and working on exclusives as opposed to things with a huge price tag. I'm a perfectionist and try to make things which are of absolutely impeccable quality, which tell a unique story and which you can treasure forever. I'm not anti fast-fashion but I think it's important to question where your clothes have come from.

Fashion Spy meets... Jameela Jamil

With its remarkably successful charm bracelets, the Danish jewellers has enjoyed mass appeal for years. Despite its popularity I've never thought of Pandora as, dare I say it, cutting edge. Then presenter Jameela Jamil came along and gave the brand her cool-girl seal of approval.

London Fashion Week: round-up

Towards the end of the week, however we were graced with blue skies and the large numbers of international press who were visiting London en route to Milan, were fully able to appreciate our home grown fashion scene.

London Fashion Week: Christopher Kane

Kane continues to surpass expectations with the sheer variety of his work. In the past he has discussed his intention to follow a natural flow of ideas rather than adhering strictly to the same theme each season.
