A man who died in an avalanche in the Highlands has been identified as Adrian David Bankart. The 54-year-old from Derbyshire, known as Dave, was one of two men caught up in the avalanche on Creag Meagaidh, a mountain range approximately 19 miles north east of Ben Nevis, on Wednesday afternoon. In a statement released by Police Scotland, it has been said that Mr Bankart's family would like to extend their gratitude to all emergency services and mountain rescue personnel who were involved in the incident. The second male climber remains in a serious but stable condition in Belford Hospital in Fort William.
