Creative plan to control buses

Scotland’s traffic commissioner plans to use health and safety legislation to prevent buses arriving at bus stops within minutes of each other in a deliberate attempt to poach passengers from other firms.

Joan Aitken told The Herald she was looking into a form of “creative regulation” in order to stamp out the practice of so-called predatory running, which can lead to several buses arriving together, followed by large gaps in the timetable.
