Police searching for a missing mother-of three who disappeared three days ago said last night they had discovered her body.
Forty-six-year-old Elizabeth Anne Drummond, who has three young children, left the Flying Horse public house in Main Street, Barrhead, around 6pm on Thursday following a few drinks with her family.
She was last seen walking along Aurs Road about 45 minutes later, near the Balgray Reservoir - known locally as the Barrhead Dams.
She had not been seen since and had made no contact with her family.
Last night, Strathclyde Police said that the body of Mrs Drummond had been found in a wooded area between Barrhead and Newton Mearns. There appeared to be no suspicious circumstances and a post mortem examination would be held in due course, the police said.
Her relatives had been made aware and a report will be sent to the procurator fiscal.
Elizabeth, known to her family and friends as Anne, was described as around 5ft 1in tall, of medium build and had a red heart tattoo with "dad" underneath it on her right arm.
Police, in appealing for help earlier yesterday, said her disappearance was baffling and that relatives were worried about her safety.
Sergeant Mike McInally of Barrhead police said: "Anne's family and friends are frantic with worry over her disappearance, as it is completely out of character and something she has never done before.
"She has been suffering from depression recently which is naturally increasing their concerns for her safety and well- being, and as the days pass by, we are also becoming extremely concerned."
