Niccolo Ammaniti: Me And You (Canongate)

Following books like The Curious Incident Of The Dog In The Night-Time and Extremely Loud And Incredibly Close, the comparatively snappily titled Me And You continues the theme of novels written from the viewpoints of children with varying degrees of Asperger's-like conditions.

Ammaniti's speciality has always been the psychology of Italian teenagers, but he's outdone himself here with the creation of Lorenzo, a 14-year-old whose condition is not so severe as to prevent him going to a regular school, but who still has a great deal of difficulty fitting in.
