WORKPLACE interiors specialist Steelcase Solutions has moved into its new Scottish headquarters and is considering further expansion.
The company started in Scotland three years ago and in the past 12 months it has won business with BP at Grangemouth, Exxon Mobil and Chevron in Aberdeen, ScottishPower, HSBC and Hilton in Glasgow plus RBS and Lloyds Banking Group in Edinburgh.
As a result of its growth, Steelcase Solutions, a subsidiary of global firm Steelcase, now has a showroom and office at West Regent Street in Glasgow.
There will be seven staff based from there, although the company can use dozens more people when working on larger projects.
Lawrence Morison, managing director of Steelcase Solutions UK, admitted the firm is considering an office in Aberdeen.
He said: "We are looking at Aberdeen as we feel that it is probably a bit far to serve from Glasgow.
"We have seen significant growth in Scotland and we are seeing a pipeline for the next year which would indicate growth.
"There is a pattern of it getting a bit better and we are seeing potential business for us in the coming years. More and more companies are realising a properly laid out workspace can be a real asset."
Richard Muir, deputy chief executive of Glasgow Chamber of Commerce, said: "It is really encouraging to see companies such as Steelcase Solutions underline their commitment to the city and Scotland."
