ENERGY efficiency technology specialist Direct Savings has opened its first proper showroom in a move which is creating up to 20 jobs.
The company, which has its headquarters in Livingston, West Lothian, has invested £100,000 in the Perth site, which will act as a hub for its infranomic heating systems.
The system uses similar techniques to premature baby incubators, and Direct Savings claim it can help to save 45% on heating bills for most households.
Ged Smith, managing director of the company, said: "We are predicting major expansion of our business over the next two years.
"That success will be channelled back into the business – both to benefit our staff and to continue to research and develop products like infranomic heating that will benefit homeowners for years to come.
"Over the past two years the business has gone from strength to strength and our vision now is to establish Direct Savings as the market leader in providing energy-efficient solutions."
Scottish Finance Secretary John Swinney, MSP for Perthshire North, helped to officially open the office.
He said: "Direct Savings' decision to locate here in Perth is excellent news both for our local economy and this dynamic and growing Scottish business.
"I very much welcome this exciting development for Perth as another new company sets up here seeking to fill sales, administrative and installation roles."
