OIL and gas services firm Rigmar Services has bought fabrication business Riverside Engineering in a six-figure deal.

Riverside is to be rebranded as Rigmar Fabrication, with all 40 staff transferring across and its main site at Prince Charles Wharf in Dundee retained.

That includes a 40,000 square feet facility with overhead cranes, yard space and an office. The company hopes to expand the workforce in Dundee in the coming months.

Rob Dalziel, managing director of Aberdeen-based Rigmar, said: "We have worked well with Riverside for a number of years and recognised there was an opportunity to utilise the facility and the knowledge within the business to attract the oil and gas offshore and renewables market."
