Outsourcing firm Mitie said its core facilities management businesses were performing "exceptionally well", buoyed by a five-year deal worth in excess of £100 million to provide services to BSkyB.

It has seen some delays in energy infrastructure projects but said it was confident it will extend its long record of sustainable profits growth.

It also expects to see opportunities for the outsourcing of the facilities management of prisons.

One of the company's largest contracts is with Lloyds Banking Group.
