SCOTTISH software company EmergeAdapt is hoping for further growth in the United States after scooping a major industry award.

Glasgow-based Emerge-Adapt's system, CaseBlocks, was awarded the Workflow Management Coalition (WfMC) Global Award for Excellence in Case Management.

Chief executive Paul McGlynn said: "The Workflow Management Coalition (WfMC) is an industry body of the leading thinkers in process management technology, with previous illustrious winners such as IBM and EMC.

"To be up there with globally leading technology brands is a wonderful achievement for us. To the team here, it is confirmation that we have built a great product and our strategy to create a world class software business is delivering."

EmergeAdapt provides software development and consultancy services for companies of a range of sizes. These include web development and the creation of applications for mobile telephones.

Among its customers has been Axle Group Holdings, the parent of the 200 outlet strong National Tyres & Autocare, which used the CaseBlocks system to reform how it manages internal processes involving people, information and communications.

Its CaseBlocks system is targeted at retail, business to business and service industry companies as well as professional organisations.

It is particularly aimed at companies at the larger end of the small and medium-sized firm category seeking to make its processes more efficient and customer interactions more profitable.

Denise O'Connor, business adviser at support service, Business Gateway, said: "We are proud to be working with EmergeAdapt and helping them to grow by looking at local and international markets for CaseBlocks.

"We helped the company establish a strong brand and online presence, and assisted in hiring a business development manager based in the US, in support of EmergeAdapt's international growth strategy."
