Harper Macleod swells its ranks
LAW firm Harper Macleod has boosted its offices in Edinburgh and Glasgow with a series of appointments.
Chris Noble, pictured, has joined the firm's real estate and construction team as a partner, with a particular focus on retail property clients. He made the switch from DWF Biggart Baillie, where he dealt with leasing for retail occupiers and the acquisition, asset management and disposal of retail investment properties.
Mr Noble has acted for some of the UK high street's best known retail brands around Scotland and has also acted for hopping centre landlords.
Mr Noble's appointment comes as two new solicitors arrive at Harper Macleod's private client and residential property team.
Susie Henderson trained at Wright Johnston and Mackenzie and recently completed her STEP (Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners) diploma is trusts and estates. Laura Burns trained at Bird Semple Solicitors and joins from Morton Fraser.
Three on the up at Henderson Loggie
ACCOUNTANCY firm Henderson Loggie has made three promotions in its audit and accounting and business solutions department.
Fiona Morgan, pictured, has been appointed a partner while David Taylor, pictured, becomes a director and is now head of the firm's healthcare group. The third promotion has seen Mark Hay become manager.
Ms Morgan, who has been based in the firm's Aberdeen office since 2010, joined Henderson Loggie in Dundee in 1997, having previously worked with KPMG. Throughout her career she has advised SMEs (small and medium-sized enterprises) companies in sectors such as oil and gas, manufacturing, retail, food and drink and leisure and tourism. She also advises third sector organisations.
Mr Taylor, who is based in the firm's Dundee office, has been with Henderson Loggie since 2004.
Mr Hay is based in the firm's Aberdeen office, having initially joined Henderson Loggie's Edinburgh office in 2006. He previously worked with Haines Watt where he qualified as a CA.
Law firm rings the changes
LAW firm Aberdein Considine has made several promotions at its offices around the country.
Neil Fraser, pictured, who is based at the firm's Aberdeen headquarters, has been made a partner. He now also heads its employment and professional negligence teams.
Mr Fraser recently became the first solicitor from Aberdeen to be appointed to the Law Society of Scotland's Pursuers' Panel, and is a member of the Professional Negligence Lawyers' Association.
The firm has also promoted four senior solicitors as associates - Paul McIntosh in Edinburgh and David Orr, Aaron Doran and Isabelle Douglas in Aberdeen.
Aberdein Considine has also promoted five solicitors to senior solicitor roles. Chris Comfort, Mairi Kennedy, Jane Gordon and Leah Bowman will be based across the firm's Aberdeen offices, while Claire Ogston will continue her role as resident solicitor at the firm's Westhill office.
Douglas Telfer has been appointed as a senior solicitor in Glasgow.
New associates at Morisons
MORISONS LLP has promoted two solicitors in its family law team to the position of associate.
Nicola Kerr, pictured top, who has been practising exclusively in family law for more than five years, specialises in financial provision on divorce cases and pre-nuptial agreements, and tutors on an undergraduate course at The University of Edinburgh.
Lucy Mackie, pictured, has been qualified as a solicitor for five years and has extensive experience conducting hearings in her own right in sheriff courts throughout Scotland. Ms Mackie has also prepared high net worth cases of divorce for counsel in the Court of Session. She was instructed by the Pursuer in a cohabitation case last year, which resulted in a record payment in Scotland being ordered.
Morisons' managing partner Peter Duff said: "Their promotions are richly deserved."
