A SURVEY has found three-quarters of Scottish business owners, operators, investors and funders intend to vote no in September's independence referendum, writes Scott Wright.

Property firm Christie & Co's poll of 150 firms also found that 65% believe a yes vote would have a negative effect on their business.

In spite of the findings, Christie & Co director Kerr Young does not expect uncertainty over the referendum to curb the flow of investment into Scotland, "particularly as property values in London and the south east increase ahead of those in the regions".

He said: "In 2014, we expect investors to continue to seek good quality businesses across the regions and we do not anticipate the vote on September 18 2014 to stem the appetite from investors seeking good quality opportunities."

The poll was unveiled as the firm launched its annual Business Outlook report.
