STEWART Milne Timber Systems has brought in contracts worth more than £14 million as it takes advantage of the resurgence in construction activity across the UK.

The company, a division of Aberdeen-based Stewart Milne Group, said the versatility and energy efficiency of its systems has driven demand in the housing and commercial property sectors.

It reported a rise in the number of quotations provided to prospective clients, with the figure up 50% on a 24-month rolling average in August, and 30% in September last year.

The company recently supplied timber systems to housing projects in Devon, Cambridgeshire, Oxfordshire and Greenwich, London. It is due to work on a large student accommodation project in Hatfield, where it will work with Bouygues UK and the University of Hertfordshire.
