PROPERTY developer Muir Group is expanding its Aberdeen Gateway business park after receiving an £8.35 million loan from Bank of Scotland.

The funding will be used to build 45,000 square of new office space as well as similar sizes of warehouse and yard facilities this year.

Ensco Technologies and Tetra Technologies have already agreed leases to take the space which highlights the demand for premises in and around the city.

Muir Group, which was founded in 1973 by John Muir and has its headquarters in Inverkeithing, Fife, acquired the 70-acre site in the south of Aberdeen in 2006.

It has so far developed around 25% of it with current tenants including the Driving Standards Agency as well as oil and gas companies Hydrasun and Coretrax Technology.
