Law firm makes eight moves

HARPER Macleod has announced the appointment of two new partners as part of a series of eight promotions.

Omar Ali (pictured right), of the firm's energy and natural resources team, and James MacGregor (pictured far right), of the corporate team that closed more than 100 deals in 2013, step up from associate to partner.

The promotions reinforce the firm's position as the fifth-largest in Scotland by partner numbers.

Meanwhile, six female solicitors have become associates at the firm.

Amy Johnston and Fiona Macdonald have been promoted within the debt recovery team, Alexis Miller in the family law team, Frances Rooney has been promoted in rural, Catriona Strachan in infrastructure and projects, and Amy Walsh within the firm's business development team.
