Law firm makes eight moves
HARPER Macleod has announced the appointment of two new partners as part of a series of eight promotions.
Omar Ali (pictured right), of the firm's energy and natural resources team, and James MacGregor (pictured far right), of the corporate team that closed more than 100 deals in 2013, step up from associate to partner.
The promotions reinforce the firm's position as the fifth-largest in Scotland by partner numbers.
Meanwhile, six female solicitors have become associates at the firm.
Amy Johnston and Fiona Macdonald have been promoted within the debt recovery team, Alexis Miller in the family law team, Frances Rooney has been promoted in rural, Catriona Strachan in infrastructure and projects, and Amy Walsh within the firm's business development team.
Chairman Lorne Crerar said: "Creating opportunities for our own people and encouraging them to develop and grow with us has always been essential to the success of Harper Macleod, and is a benchmark sign that the firm is in good health.
"It also encouraging to see these promotions across so many areas of firm, which reflects the fact we see opportunities throughout the key areas in which we operate."
