Metcalfe promoted to chief financial officer
BAXTERS Food Group has promoted Heather Metcalfe to chief financial officer. Ms Metcalfe, a chartered accountant, joined Baxters in 2003 and most recently as group strategy and treasury director. She has also joined the group board.
Chief executive Bill King said: "Heather has been an invaluable support to the business over many years and this appointment is due recognition of her support and contribution to the expansion of Baxters.
"Heather has played a key role in our recent acquisition of the Fray Bentos brand and our international expansion in Australia, Canada and Poland."
Ms Metcalfe said: "It's a privilege to join the board of Baxters, one of the UK's best known companies. Having been closely involved in the company's growth both over the last decade I look forward to playing my part in its ambitious plans for the future."
Ms Metcalfe has been a board member of the Scottish Chamber of Commerce since 2012.
Lightbody moves to Shepherd
SHEPHERD Chartered Surveyors has appointed Sandy Lightbody, co-founder of former Glasgow-based surveying practice Allison Lightbody, as a commercial agency specialist.
Mr Lightbody made the switch after he and Allison Lightbody co-founder David Allison decided to end their business relationship.
He said: "When my former business partner and myself decided to go our separate ways, I was intent on joining a larger surveying practice with a nationwide network and so am delighted to join Shepherd.
"There is presently more activity in the commercial market across the board, in office, industrial and office sectors throughout the west of Scotland, particularly for good quality properties, and I look forward to working alongside Shepherd's busy commercial team."
Forbes makes Brewin switch
PRIVATE wealth manager Brewin Dolphin has appointed Craig Forbes as divisional director in its Glasgow office.
Mr Forbes, who has 18 years' investment industry experience, joins from Barclays, where he worked across the bank's investment businesses.
He specialises in managing investment portfolios for private clients, charities, pensions and trusts, and is a member of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment.
Stephen Martin, head of Brewin Dolphin in Glasgow, said: "We are thrilled to welcome Craig to Brewin Dolphin. He brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise which will complement our existing teams.
"This development is very much part of our commitment to expand our range of investment management services for our increasingly diverse client base."
Bailey joins recording specialist
SINCLAIR Voicenet, the East Kilbride-based provider of multimedia recording solutions, has appointed industry veteran Steve Bailey as area sales manager.
Mr Bailey has been tasked with developing and managing relationships with customers in sectors such as local government, public safety and enterprise contact centres. With more than 15 years' experience in voice recording and contact centres, he joins from NICE Systems where he was head of UK and Ireland business partners. Mr Bailey was previously senior account manager for Racal Recorders. Sinclair Voicenet director Peter Gough said: "I look forward to working closely with him to exploit new business opportunities."
