OUTGOING Aggreko chief executive Rupert Soames will start his new job at Serco one month earlier than planned.

The under pressure outsourcing firm said Mr Soames, who has been in charge of Aggreko since 2003, will now begin work on May 1, rather than June 1 as initially expected.

Serco has been without a permanent boss since October after Christopher Hyman left in the wake of a scandal over the company's criminal tagging contract.

Shares closed down 0.4p, or 0.09%, at 424.2p.
