SCOTTISH companies producing everything from cider to seaweed seasoning have been confirmed to appear at a food and drink show in September.
Thistly Cross Cider, Strathearn Distillery, The Puffer Food Company, All That's Delicious and Nairn's Oatcakes and Mara, the seawood seasoning specialist, are among the producers which will appear Eat Drink Discover Scotland. The show will take place at Ingliston's Royal Highland Centre from September 12 to 14.
With the hall set out by region, organisers say visitors will be able to go on a tasting tour of the country.
The event, taking place during Scottish Food Fortnight, will give smaller rural food producers the chance to exhibit their brands alongside more established companies, its hosts say.
Exhibitors will also have the chance to host product and skills demonstrations, with trade networking opportunities featuring on the Friday.
Although designed for food and drink businesses, all visitors will be free to attend the business sessions.
The show programme will also feature masterclasses and demonstrations by chefs, live music and activities for children.
Show co-ordinator Kathryn Slater said: "The response we've had so far has been fantastic.
"We have a 1973 Citroën H Van selling Union of Genius soup, specialist artisan pies from The Wee Pie and a host of speciality foods including several new product launches.
"Everyone is very excited about the diversity of the exhibitors who will be at the event.
"We really are showcasing the best of Scottish produce - thousands of visitors will be in for lots of treats."
Rose Martin of The Wee Pie Company, which plans to launch a rare breed Scotch pie at the event, said: "It will give us the opportunity to network with our artisan colleagues in the food and drink industry and to learn from the successes of the larger companies, whilst embracing the public's enthusiasm to share excellent products and to discover new delights."
