INDUSTRY giant Reed has been named the best large agency at the s1jobs Recruitment Awards.

The event, organised by Scotland's biggest job site s1jobs and supported by The Needle, Origin HR Solutions, QA Apprenticeships, Flo Software, Paystream, Route 2 Recruitment, Peachy Mondays and Bullhorn, attracted more than 260 people to Oran Mor in Glasgow last night.

In the large recruitment consultancy category users of s1jobs put Reed at the top and said the company was a professional and helpful agency which provided highly relevant job ­vacancies for their candidates.

Those at the event, hosted by the BBC's Catriona Shearer, saw Reed's Karen MacIntyre named best overall recruitment consultant while Glasgow based Titan Global took home the best small consultancy award after also receiving praise from s1jobs users.

The best recruitment campaign went to Havas People for the multi-channel Street Magic marketing push it put together for accountancy firm Deloitte.

John Lewis was named as the best employer brand for the third year in a row while City Building took the apprentice award.

City of Edinburgh Council won the best employer training and development prize for a flexible learning initiative with Bertram Nursery Group in association with BNG Training earning a commendation in the same category.

The chairman's award for outstanding achievement was given to consultant Shona McKenzie.

Ms McKenzie was recognised for work which includes recruitment campaigns for Glasgow 2014, Tesco Bank, Standard Life and a number of other well known Scottish employers.

Craig Aston, managing director of Flo Software, congratulated the winners and finalists.

He said: We were delighted to be a sponsor at the s1jobs awards.

"It was an excellent night at a historic venue, with a great range of awards and nominees from all sectors of the Scottish economy."
